Volkswagen sets record for Transeurasia drive
A Volkswagen outfitted with the automaker’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system, has set a Guinness World Record for a non-stop, 15,497 km drive from the Atlantic coast of Portugal to the Pacific coast of Russia.
The Transeurasia is the world’s longest west-east route on one continent, passing through Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and more than 4,800 kms of poor roads in Russia.
The Caddy Maxi, a small Volkswagen van sold in Europe, completed the drive in eight days, 13 hours and 30 minutes.
Drivers, Matthias Göttenauer and Andreas Renz, were the first team in the world to traverse the Transeurasia against the clock. Their route was measured by a GPS transmitter fitted to the Veedub. Guinness rules state that only two people may travel in the same vehicle at all times.
The 4Motion-equipped Caddy Maxi impressed the drivers with its off-road abilities on the poor Russian roads. “The fact that we completed this difficult route in record time speaks volumes for Volkswagen’s quality,’ said Göttenauer.

My search was concerning the VW Caddy in Canada, your site stated (narative part of the hit list) that the Caddy Maxi would be available in Canada by mid 2010....I couldn't find any other info. regarding the the statement .....?
