Chrysler Crossfire Coupe / Roadster Crossfire, Limited, SRT6 / Limited, SRT6
Sports & Performance
Mar 01, 2006
Apart from new paint colours, Chrysler's street-legal concept car continues as is for 2006, still combining eye-popping looks with the under-the-skin engineering of the last-generation Mercedes SLK. There are five models to choose from -- a coupe in base, Limited or SRT6 grades, and Limited or SRT6 roadsters. Regular Crossfires are powered by a torquey 3.2-litre, 215-hp Mercedes V6 bolted to six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmissions. The SRT6s employ a supercharged V6 that deploys 330 horsepower through a five-speed automatic. The base-engined cars are decent performers but also civilized enough to risk being dismissed as "chick cars." Paradoxically, the SRT6s, which appeal to hard-core driving enthusiasts, are not available with manual transmission.
