AJAC's 2006 Best New Luxury car continues in one "loaded" version, with a 255-hp, 3.0-litre "six" driving a seamless all-wheel drive system through 6-speed automatic or manual transmissions. The engine is creamy smooth, with solid torque providing effortless acceleration. Secure, balanced handling is combined with a brilliantly smooth ride. The back seat is very comfy and roomy for two, and if cargo room isn't huge, the rear hold is at least eminently useable, with straight sides and no rear lip. Standard stuff includes Xenon adaptive headlamps, a power tailgate, heated steering wheel with power adjustment, and a huge glass sunroof. The only 2007 newness is a satellite-ready audio system that is also MP3-capable and has an auxiliary jack.

Drive it, you'll understand why it's award-winning

Only comes in one loaded version -- an expensive one
