Big, brawny and brimming with attitude, the Magnum is a unique package. But its sloping roofline and high rear sill say "hatchback" more than "wagon," and cargo volume is modest for so large a car (though there's ample people space). Available with rear- or all-wheel drive, Magnum gets much of its engineering from Mercedes. Engines, however, are all-Chrysler: 190-hp, 2.7-litre V6; 250-hp, 3.5-litre V6; and 340-hp, 5.7-litre or 425-hp, 6.1-litre V8s. Either V8 will make a hooligan of you -- it goes like stink, and sounds wonderful. The brakes are strong and the handling is agile, albeit at the price of a stiff ride. For 2007, a handling-enhancing Performance Group with 20-inch wheels is available on the RWD R/T.

Stiff ride, hard to see out, not a real wagon
