Saab 9-3 SportCombi 2.0T, Aero
Station Wagon
Mar 01, 2007
The 9-3 wagon (sorry - SportCombi) was new last year, and for 2007 it gets the same reworked interior as its sedan and convertible siblings. Like them, it comes in 2.0T and Aero flavours. The former is powered by a smooth, torquey 210-hp, 2.0-litre turbo "four" with a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. The Aero has a 250-hp, 2.8-litre turbo V6 and a 6-speed manual or automatic. The V6 delivers effortless power with impressive mechanical refinement. Like all Saabs, the wagon handles extremely well, though we'd like more steering feel. There's very little kneeroom in the back seat, and in wagon mode, the seatbacks merely flop down onto the seat cushions and are not flat.

Great powertrains, handling and safety

Not the roomiest or most functional of wagons
