Saab 9-5 SportCombi
Station Wagon
Mar 01, 2007
Like its sedan counterpart, the Saab 9-5 wagon is an oft-overlooked gem. For 2007, it stays as is, following last year's thorough makeover. The wagon comes in just one flavour, and that is spicy: the 2.3-litre turbo four makes 260 hp, and 235/45R17 tires are standard. Both 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions are available, as is a Sport handling package, and a Visibility package (Xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking assist). Combining a comfortable ride with precise, sure-footed handling and high levels of passive safety, the 9-5 wagon is a unique package for those who prefer the road less travelled. It's also roomier, and far more functional as a wagon, than most European alternatives.

Sporty, luxurious, and a proper wagon

Lacks the charm of Saab's traditional eccentricity
