Until now, Cadillac's crossover SUV has shared its cockpit design with the CTS sedan it's based on. For 2007, a totally new instrument panel and matching door trim are assembled with a new "cut-and-sew" interior process that combines advanced technology with hand-built craftsmanship. On the technical side, SRX graduates to a 6-speed automatic on the 320-hp, 4.6-litre V8-engined rear- and all-wheel-drive models; the base 255-hp, 3.6-litre V6 stays with a 5-speed. A new AWD Sport package includes V-Series-style cosmetics, 4-inch polished exhaust tips, 20-inch wheels and performance tires, and a limited slip differential. All told, with the driving dynamics of a sports sedan and up to seven seats, the SRX is quite a package.
One of the industry's best-kept secrets
Too tasteful and rational for some Cadillac buyers?
