Cadillac Escalade, ESV
SUV over $45K
Mar 01, 2007
King of Bling, or poster truck for conspicuous consumption? However you call it, the S'lade and its stretched ESV derivative went third-generation last year as an early '07. A sleek new exterior is mounted on GM's new full-size truck architecture (surprisingly, still with no sign of an independent rear suspension). Unique to the Caddy is a 403-hp, 6.2-litre version of GM's classic "small-block" V8. Paired with a 6-speed automatic, this is one quick truck, though luxury buyers might expect less ruckus from under the hood. An exclusive new option is a power fold-and-tumble second-row seat to ease access to the third row. All the other high-end amenities are present -- including, of course, available 22-inch chrome wheels.
