The regular Corvette coupe continues to be powered by a 6.0-litre LS2 V8 that matches the last-generation Z06, generating 400 hp and an equal quantity of torques. The transmission is a 6-speed, whether manual or automatic. As always, the Corvette is a performance-car bargain, yet it's not intimidating to drive. Visibility is good, and there's a surprisingly large trunk beneath the rear liftgate. Although a full convertible Corvette is also available, the coupe continues to have a Targa-style removable roof. For 2007 there's a larger glove box, interior trim enhancements, and the cross-drilled heavy-duty brakes that were previously exclusive to the Z51 performance package are now also included with the optional Magnetic Selective Ride (ie, variable-damping) suspension.
