Saab 9-5
Sport Sedan
Mar 01, 2007
Following last year's revamp, the midsize Saab stays pretty much as is for 2007. Saab was a pioneer of turbo-charging mainstream cars, using it as a means of obtaining substantial performance from small and hence fuel-efficient engines. The single 9-5 sedan model now sold in Canada (there's also a wagon) showcases that expertise. Its 4-cylinder turbo engine outputs an estimable 260 hp from just 2.3 litres, powering the front wheels through 5-speed manual or automatic transmissions. For all its performance, the 9-5 is also refined, roomy and very safe. The optional Sport Package brings metallic interior trim, sport seats and handling oriented suspension, while the Visibility Package offers Xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking assist.
