Subaru Impreza WRX STI
Sport Sedan
Mar 01, 2007
Based purely on performance-for-the-dollar, Subaru's Impreza WRX STI is hard to beat. Basically, what you have is an AWD, turbocharged, 293-hp, four-door 911 fighter for half the price. Thankfully, the car is much more than just a heavy-breathing engine. Subaru claims the car draws directly from its WRC racing program, with race-bred suspension and steering hardware. Aside from the slight restyle last year, which added yet another spoiler on the rear window, the STI also gained a new steering angle sensor and a limited slip setup for the Driver Controlled Centre Differential (which allows torque to be moved manually front-to-back via a toggle switch on the centre console).
