Like all Audi A8s, the S8 has an aluminum bodyshell and features quattro all-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The difference between A and S, however, is the S8's 450-hp direct-injection (FSI) 5.2-litre V10 engine, similar to that in the Lamborghini Gallardo. Cowabunga! The result is a luxurious limousine that can scoot to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and sound like a Lamborghini in the process. Also part of the package is sport-tuned height-adjustable air suspension with adaptive damping, quicker steering, gi-normous 265/35R20 tires, and uprated brakes that deliver stopping distances equal to those of the best sports cars. If the engine isn't musical enough, a 1000-watt, 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio is optional.
