Rolls-Royce Phantom
Prestige
Mar 01, 2007
It really doesn't get more opulent (or should that be "vulgar"?) than this. The Phantom is incredible in the metal, stretching 6 metres (19 ft.), rolling on 22-inch wheels and weighing 2.5 tons. And that's just the regular-wheelbase model -- there's an extended wheelbase option, too. The engine displaces 6.75 litres, just like the Rolls-Royce V8 has done since time immemorial -- except that in this case the engine is a stretched BMW V12 (recall that Rolls-Royce is now owned by BMW). While the engine's 435 hp is adequate, the real story is the massive low-end torque. Combine that with the low first gear of a 6-speed automatic, and this leviathan can leap into action like a scalded cat.
