Dodge Ram Mega Cab SLT, Laramie
Pickup Truck
Mar 01, 2007
To create the Mega Cab, Dodge took a long-box 2500 model, replaced the 8-ft bed with a 6-footer, and stretched the cab to fill the remaining space. Net result: the roomiest cabin in the industry, along with the largest in-cab cargo volume. Available in 1500, 2500 and 3500 models, the Mega Cab's standard engine is the 5.7-litre Hemi V8. For 2007, the optional Cummins Turbo Diesel grows to 6.7 litres, producing 350 hp at 3,013 rpm and 650 lb-ft (!) of torque. A new 6-speed automatic is available, a 6-speed manual is standard. The truck is surprisingly quiet to drive, and compliant given its girth. Of course, it's a handful in parking lots, and not at all garage-friendly.

Huge rear seat, Hemi power

Land yacht, dreadful fuel mileage
