Hyundai Entourage GL, GL Comfort, GLS, GLS Premium
Van/Minivan
Mar 01, 2007
Imagine the chagrin at Hyundai dealers these past few years. Head office in Korea buys up the troubled Kia company, starts to develop vehicles for both companies off common platforms, and next thing you know Kia, the adopted child, enters the minivan market. Hyundai, not so much.

The years pass, and Kia dealers get a second-generation Sedona minivan for 2006. But still Hyundai dealers are vanless.

Now it's 2007, and at last Hyundai has a minivan to call its own. And guess what? It's our Editors' Choice for 2007. We still feel that last year's titleholder, the Honda Odyssey, is an extremely well designed and classy minivan, but the Entourage is that too -- but also a much better price/value proposition.

As you'd expect, it's basically a clone of the Sedona -- and that's a good thing. One of the biggest vans, both outside and in, the Entourage has a world-class 3.8-litre V6, a comprehensive suite of standard active and passive safety features, and is loaded to the gills with bells and whistles.

The third-row seat is 60/40 split and folds away into the floor. A pair of sliding, folding or removable captain's chairs are standard in the second row.

Even the base GL is thoroughly equipped, including keyless entry with an alarm, cruise, power windows, an immobilizer system, tri-zone climate control and an AM/FM/CD audio system.

Big room, big value, big strong engine

No eight-seater possibilities
