Dodge Grand Caravan Base, SXT
Van/Minivan
Mar 01, 2007
Like Caravan, the long-wheelbase Grand Caravan is available in base and SXT trim levels. The company's novel Stow 'n Go system, which can fold the second- and third-row seats flat into the floor, is optional on the base Grand and standard on the SXT. Engines are old-tech OHV pieces -- a 3.3-litre, 180-hp V6 on the base, and a 205-hp 3.8-litre unit on SXT. Both drive the front wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. Despite these dated, under-achieving powertrains, the Caravan's value pricing, choice of wheelbases, and options like Stow 'n Go, have kept it Canada's top-selling minivan year after year. In a bid to keep it that way, Chrysler will launch a new-generation Caravan this fall.
