Acura TL, Type-S
Luxury
Mar 01, 2007
A reshuffled 2007 model lineup for Acura's intermediate sedan sees a new Type-S designation replace the former Dynamic Package. Still included are a 6-speed manual transmission, beefed-up suspension, limited-slip differential and Brembo brakes, but the tires are now the same 17-inch all-seasons as on the regular TL. More important, the Type-S gets a brawnier 3.5-litre, 286-hp V6. Last year's 3.2-litre, 258-hp V6 continues in the regular TL, along with a 5-speed automatic with SportShift. The Type-S also includes the Navi package (GPS navigation plus a rear-view camera) that is optional on TL. Other new across-the-board features include the addition of XM radio, Dolby Pro-Logic II and auxiliary input jack for the TL's already state-of-the-art audio system.

Still no AWD system to get the rear wheels involved
