Ford Five Hundred SEL, Limited
Family
Mar 01, 2007
Sharing its Volvo-sourced P2 platform with the Freestyle crossover means this full-size sedan affords huge interior volume, a trunk that can swallow eight golf bags, and an unusually lofty, SUV-like seating position that Ford says most drivers want. Although Ford's impressive new 3.5-litre V6 has broken cover in other models, the Five Hundred for now retains the old and somewhat under-achieving 3.0-litre Duratec V6. The FWD models now all have a 6-speed automatic; the optional AWDs continue with the continuously-variable (CVT) automatic, which helps reduce fuel consumption. New standard equipment for 2007 includes side-impact and head-curtain airbags, and Sirius satellite radio. An optional navigation system and heated seats are now also available on the SEL grade.

Huge interior volume, available AWD

Not very quick, vanilla styling
