Chevrolet Aveo5 LS, LT
Economy
Mar 01, 2007
For 2007 the Aveo sedan has an all-new body, but the hatch stays as is, still in LS or LT trim levels. It does share the sedan's retuned suspension, which is claimed to deliver Euro-flavour ride and handling. Unusual in this price range, A/C is standard, while beyond-the-norm options include ABS, a power sunroof, cruise control, and a 6-speaker premium audio system with steering wheel mounted controls. All radios have an auxiliary input jack for iPods etc., and are MP3-capable. Wave's 1.6-litre, 103-hp engine is less than state-of-the-art, with disappointing fuel economy by subcompact standards, though these are decent highway cruisers. The hatch can carry a lot of stuff when the back seat is fully folded.

Affordable, roomy for its size, lots of options

Engine under-achieves in performance, fuel economy
