Hallelujah, BMW has finally cleaned up the styling of the much-debated 7 Series. Aside from the handsome new headlights, the rear end's been cleaned up, toning down the much debated "Bangle butt," named for the car's chief stylist. For 2006, the 745 models are gone, replaced by new, more powerful 750i and 750Li short and long wheelbase trims. The new V8 puts out 360 hp, 35 more than last year. The 760Li remains the top-of-range model, propelled by a 438 hp V12 and capable of 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. Arguably, the best full-size driver's sedan out there, the 7 Series still carries the i-Drive control system as standard equipment.
