Jaguar's first wagon is sold here in one version, powered by a 227-hp 3.0-litre V6 that is now looking a little dated compared with rivals that have upgraded since the X-Type was new. Teamed with a 5-speed automatic transmission, the engine powers all four wheels to deliver superb handling with a mostly comfortable ride (it does occasionally jar badly on big potholes). Like most Euro-wagons, the Jaguar doesn't go overboard in its wagon-ness -- there's a lip at the back, and the flip-down rear seat-backs don't go completely flat. But it does provide more cargo room than most rivals. For 2007, stability control, reverse park control and redesigned 17-inch wheels join the list of standard stuff.
