Every other full-size pickup has a body-on-frame design. But Honda doesn't do "body-on-frame" anything, so engineers created the first full-size pickup with unibody construction. Some dimensions and elements are carried over from the Pilot SUV, which is made alongside Ridgeline at Honda's Ontario plant. The Ridgeline features the segment's first independent rear suspension and can tow 5,000 lbs. or carry up to 1,100. The composite cargo bed is integrated into the body structure, adding stiffness; there's an 8.5 cu-ft weatherproof "trunk" beneath the floor; and there's ample people-space inside the 4-door cab. Ridgeline uses the Pilot's efficient and strong 3.5-litre V6, 5-speed automatic and sophisticated AWD system. Nothing of note changes for 2007.
