Nissan Frontier King Cab, Crew Cab

Published on Mar 01, 2007

Nissan's smaller pickup is based on the automaker's F-Alpha ladder frame, which also supports the full-size Titan. Other hand-me-downs from its big brother include the factory spray-in bedliner, and the Utilitrak cargo tie-down system. New this year is a long-box option (13 inches plus) for the Crew Cabs, and an MP3-capable audio jack for all models. The base King Cab Frontier XE (there are no regular cab Frontiers) is motivated by a 152-hp, 2.5-litre 4-cylinder, while the brawny 4.0-litre V6 in other models returns with a revised 261-hp rating, according to the new SAE test standards. The go-anywhere Nismo off-road package returns as well, with Bilstein shocks, skid plates, Hill Descent Control and knobby BFG tires.
