Cadillac DTS, Performance Edition
Published on
Mar 01, 2007
The Cadillac DTS replaced the Deville last year. Styling was brought in line with the current edgy Cadillac family look, but its front-wheel drive architecture is shared with the Buick Lucerne, not with its siblings that have all gone rear-wheel drive. Chassis tuning focuses on a smooth, quiet ride. Two 4.6-litre Northstar V8s are offered, both hitched to a 4-speed automatic. The higher-revving 292-hp L37 is tuned for more peak horsepower; the 275-hp LD8 puts more emphasis on quick launch and part-throttle response. DTS comes in a single model, but with multiple option packages. For 2007, new additions to the already comprehensive amenities list include standard chrome wheels, available XM satellite radio and a rear sunshade.
Looks, finally, like part of the family
