Honda Accord Hybrid

Published on Mar 01, 2007

The arrival of Toyota's Camry Hybrid makes the gasoline-electric Accord look a little pricey now, though the Honda does have the advantage of a refined V6 engine. It's a V6, moreover, with a system that further saves fuel by de-activating three cylinders in light load situations. The result: a midsize sedan that can do 0-100 in less than 8 seconds, or deliver the fuel economy of a compact. Space occupied by the batteries shrinks the trunk by 20 percent, however, and you lose the folding back seats. In addition to the already comprehensive feature list shared with the EX-L, the Hybrid also has turn-signal repeaters in the door mirrors, a rear centre armrest, and a deck lid spoiler.
