You know disposable income is at an all-time high when Rolls-Royce announces expansion plans for its Goodwood, England facilities. The ultra-luxury automaker is adding more production capability, a second assembly line and a second work shift to cope with unprecedented demand for the $440,000 Phantom model, the new $527,400 Phantom Drophead Coupé and the coming production version of the 101EX Coupé. Rolls-Royce says Phantom sales continue to grow with the Extended Wheelbase model accounting for a quarter of all sales. Orders for the Drophead Coupé extend through 2008 and nine out of 10 cars leaving Goodwood featured bespoke content — specially tailored features that only add to the vehicle’s price.
