Mercedes-Benz doesn’t have to resort to inflatable gorillas and free pony rides to move its vehicles, but that doesn’t mean its not looking to enhance the value proposition of its products now and then. Case in point, the new, Canadian-exclusive C230 and C230 4Matic, which take over as the automaker’s entry-level sedans. The $35,800 C230 and the $39,500 4Matic model are $5,200 less, compared to the previously base C300 and C300 4Matic. Both new C’s are powered by a 2.5-litre V6, producing 201 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque, via either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed auto (in the AWD model). Standard equipment includes eight-way power seats, rain sensing wipers and 16-inch alloys. A Premium and Sport Package are optional, the latter with AMG body styling.
